Mingle2 is becoming part of JustSayHi.com

Over the past several weeks I’ve been negotiating the merger of Mingle2 to a competing website: JustSayHi.com. JustSayHi is also a completely free online dating site and has nearly a quarter million users. I chose JustSayHi primarily because their aspirations are very aligned with mine; we both want this property to be synonymous with free online dating, much like how craigslist has become synonymous with free classified ads. JustSayHi also has a highly scalable infrastructure, which means it works better and can combat spam much more effectively than I could do on my own. As many of you know, Mingle2 is still my “night job.” By selling to JustSayHi and quitting my day job, I can focus all of my energy on the dating website.

So what’s going to happen to Mingle2? Mingle2 will basically disappear and be absorbed into JustSayHi. I’m sad to see it go, but it was worth it. The value we can provide by joining forces is going to be phenomenal.

What about my account on Mingle2? Your account will be migrated into JustSayHi website, so you’ll be able to login with the same email and password you used on Mingle2.

When will this change occur? Saturday, October 5th, 2007.

Will the site still be 100% free? Yes, we have absolutely no intentions of making this a paid dating site.

What’s gonna happen to Matt? I’ll now be employed full-time for JustSayHi, so I’ll still be around. If you see me on the JustSayHi forums or website make sure and say hi.
